Hello, I’m Tishanna, a counselor-in-training and a second year Clinical Mental Health graduate student at
Rhode Island College.
I have experience working as a clinical case manager where I work to reunify families whose children are
in DCYF custody, giving me the opportunities to work with children, adolescents and adults. Through this
professional experience, I have also been given the opportunity to work with clients with parenting
difficulties, substance use issues, as well as survivors of trauma. I have also worked with clients who
suffer with a variety of mental health issues such as depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, PTSD, and
intellectual disabilities. In addition to my professional experiences, I have been able to gain knowledge
through practicum experiences at Rhode Island College where I have worked with clients with various
presenting problems such as relationship issues, family struggles, depression and anxiety.
I offer a caring, warm and supportive environment for my clients while I utilize person-centered and
cognitive-behavioral approaches in my practice. I believe that it is your story to tell and how we work on
goals depends on your needs as a client. By maintaining an open and honest relationship with one
another, we can find solutions to the goals you create. I cannot wait to begin this journey towards a
healthier you!
