As my client, you will receive a warm, non-judgemental ear and unconditional empathy. I approach each client with trauma-informed care. Unfortunately, many people have experienced traumatic events at some point, and it is vital for you to know that there is nothing wrong with you; something has happened to you. Further, I combine the trauma-informed approach with Carl Roger's Person-Centered Theory, in which you, the client, are treated with unconditional positive regard. I believe we all possess the ability to make the necessary changes we desire in life. You reading this right now shows this to be true! Further, I employ mindfulness and cognitive behavioral therapy techniques to challenge negative thoughts and provide healthier ways of dealing with stressful situations.

My previous internship experience brought me to the Rhode Island Veterans home, where my passion for the veteran and the elderly community was able to provide care as a mental health counselor intern. I worked with a population that experiences PTSD, dementia, Alzheimer's disease, depression, and adjustment issues. Before my internships, I gained experience and knowledge through practicum courses. These foundational classes allowed me to work with clients facing various issues such as depression, anxiety, social anxiety, ADHD, and adjustment disorders.

I look forward to getting to know you and building a strong therapeutic relationship with you. Together we can navigate through the challenges you are facing for you to become the best, healthiest self you can be!
