Hello there, and look at you go! You have begun your journey by taking this first step of searching for a therapist, and I think that is awesome!
I’m Joe, a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate and an Army veteran. As your potential therapist, I approach our time together with a trauma-informed and neuro-informed lens. This means we’ll explore how your unique brain functions and past experiences have shaped your present. My perspective is deeply informed by both professional training and personal insights. While I’m passionate about supporting all individuals on their journey, I have a particular interest in working with neurodivergent adults, especially those who are late-diagnosed, understanding the unique challenges and strengths that often come with these experiences.
I’m here to provide an empathetic, safe, and non-judgmental environment where we can explore distressing areas in your life together. You are the expert on yourself, and your experiences are uniquely yours. I meet you where you are; I make no assumptions about your life or how your experiences have affected you.
My clinical background includes a year as an intern at Sheehan Psychotherapy, where I assisted adults dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma, relationship issues, ADHD, ASD, and individuals in the LGBTQ+ population.
Finding a therapist can be an overwhelming and intimidating experience, but you’re here, and that’s a significant step. I look forward to the privilege of getting to know you and supporting you through life’s challenges so you can experience a more fulfilling and meaningful life.
