Kayla Victorino, MS, LMHC-A (she/her), is an Associate Licensed Mental Health Counselor in the state of Rhode Island who works with teens, college students, and adults navigating a wide range of emotional and life challenges. She holds a Master of Science in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and has several years of experience supporting individuals through anxiety, depression, ADHD, life transitions, stress and burnout, LGBTQ+ concerns, and women’s issues.
Kayla’s therapeutic approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and person-centered therapy. She believes that each client is the expert in their own life, and her role is to collaborate with clients to help them access their strengths, develop insight, and build tools that support their well-being. Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, Kayla tailors therapy to each person’s goals, background, and pace.

Clients often describe Kayla as warm, approachable, patient, and supportive. She prioritizes creating a compassionate, collaborative relationship where individuals feel comfortable exploring their experiences and mental health openly. During the first session, Kayla focuses on establishing a safe and confidential therapeutic space while learning what has brought the client to therapy and beginning to build a strong therapeutic connection.
Kayla believes that progress in therapy is rarely linear and that moments of challenge or setback can also offer opportunities for growth and resilience. She leads sessions with validation and sincerity, helping clients gently explore patterns or behaviors that may be contributing to distress while encouraging accountability in a supportive way.
A strong believer in the importance of the therapeutic alliance, Kayla works to ensure that every client feels safe, respected, and truly seen. She is especially passionate about supporting individuals from diverse and marginalized communities and creating an inclusive, affirming environment where clients can explore their identities and experiences.
Her therapy space reflects this intention — warm, calm, and comfortable. Kayla incorporates soft lighting and offers sensory items such as blankets, fidgets, art supplies, and games to help clients feel at ease while processing difficult topics.
Outside of her clinical work, Kayla enjoys spending time in nature, reading, watching movies, listening to music, and engaging in creative crafts. She finds it deeply meaningful to build connections with clients and witness the process of individuals learning more about themselves and creating lives that feel authentic and fulfilling.
