Her approach integrates Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), solution-focused techniques, and person-centered therapy. Sessions are warm, collaborative, and client-led, with an emphasis on information gathering early on to truly understand each client’s story. Tishanna creates a space that feels open, friendly, and free of judgment, where clients are encouraged to ask questions and move at a pace that feels right for them.
Tishanna balances validation with accountability. She works to affirm emotions that serve her clients while gently challenging thoughts, behaviors, or patterns that may be holding them back. When appropriate, she incorporates humor and speaks in a direct yet caring way — often described as feeling like a conversation with a trusted friend who wants to see you grow.
She prepares clients for the reality that growth can sometimes feel harder before it feels easier. Unpacking long-held experiences and emotions takes courage, and she encourages clients to stay committed through the difficult moments to reach meaningful change on the other side. Progress in therapy with Tishanna often looks like increased insight, practical skill implementation, and improved daily functioning.
Tishanna is deeply honored to walk alongside her clients as they begin new chapters in their lives. She especially enjoys working with parents, co-parents, and young adults transitioning into college or the workforce — individuals who are ready to do the work and want support breaking free from what no longer serves them. Her ultimate goal is to provide a safe, restorative space where clients feel understood, empowered, and capable of building a healthier, more fulfilling life.
